"When we started out, label people told us, 'Rock is dead. The cool thing is dance music, or the English hybrid of dance and rock,'" Lowery says.

"In a way, I don't blame them for trying to change my mind. When bands break up and one guy does a solo record, it never works. Look what happened to Bob Mould," he adds, referring to the former lead singer for Hsker D.

"With this band, we've gone back to what we loved the most--Creedence or, better yet, Ted Nugent with a punk attitude.
