Kid Pics for the weekBy Clay McNearPublished on October 19, 1995at the fair orange crush arts and music "The Wild, Wild Word Show": The second installment in City of Tempe's monthly Saturday Performing Arts Series starts at 10 a.m. Saturday at Edna Vihel Activity Building, 3340 South Rural. This time, musician Malcolm Dalglish presents this program about music and the music of words. Admission is $2 for kids age 2 and up; one adult is admitted free with each child. Call 350-5287. at the museum "Science Bubble Mania": In this second annual program, slated for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in front of Arizona Science Center, 147 East Adams, kids have tons of fun bursting their own bubbles after creating them. Also on the agenda, Bubble Yum Bubble Gum Blowing Contest, Gymboree Obstacle Course, clowns, face painters, giveaways and more. Admission to "Science Bubble Mania" outdoor festival is free; admission to the museum proper is half-price all day. Museum hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and noon to 5 p.m. Sundays. Regular admission is $4.50, $3.50 for kids ages 4 to 12 and seniors, free for kids age 3 and younger. The Secret Garden: Childsplay presents Frances Hodgson Burnett's famous story, adapted Pamela Sterling, about two children who find refuge and friendship in the title Eden. Final performances are at 7:30 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday in Stage West at Herberger Theater Center, 222 East Monroe. Think It Through Review: This abstinence-based Theatre-in-Education program, aimed at kids in seventh grade and up and designed to educate adolescents about the risks of teen pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases, is presented by Arizona Multi-Cultural Youtheatre at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday in the auditorium at Madison Number 1 Elementary School, 16th Street and Missouri. A Portrait of Einstein: Arizona Jewish Theatre Company presents this one-man show, conceived and performed by Len Barron of Boulder, Colorado, exploring the scientific and humanitarian contributions of Albert Einstein.
