Coldblooded is nothing special or unpredictable, but it's not a bad little picture--Wolodarsky's writing and direction are tight and economical, and the cast is proficient. Priestley speaks in a monotone and is thus inevitably a bit monotonous, but Kimberly Williams is engaging as his love interest, and David Anthony Higgins, Talia Balsam and Michael J. Fox (who co-produced the film) contribute amusing cameos.
The only real reason to see Coldblooded, however, is for Riegert's performance as the veteran killer. This underrated actor's snappy, declarative style gives the film a comic--and human--lift, and his chilly final scene stays with you.--M. V. Moorhead
