ZooLights: Phoenix Zoo, 455 North Galvin Parkway, in Papago Park, is garbed in its usual Technicolor dreamcoat during the facility's fifth annual ZooLights display. The after-hours fun continues Thursday, January 9; Friday, January 10; Saturday, January 11; and Sunday, January 12. Nightly hours are 6 to 9. Rocket Club: You really don't have to be a rocket scientist to join this club; in fact, that's the point. Curious kids in grades four through eight get the scoop about cool stuff like space, weather reporting and model rocketry at 4 p.m. Thursday, January 9, and the same time each Thursday at Escalante Youth Center, 2150 East Orange in Tempe. "My Future in the Global Community": The exhibit features works by students from Scottsdale and its sister cities of Kingston, Ontario, Canada; Cairns, Queensland, Australia; and Alamos, Sonora, Mexico. Saturday Performing Arts Series: The City of Tempe sponsors the series, which introduces youngsters to the fine arts.
