Donnie and Marie's nephew David Osmond stars in Andrew Lloyd Webber's early musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, an upbeat retelling of the Biblical story of the Coat of Many Colors featuring lyrics by Tim Rice. The show begins Theater League's four-show season with performances at 8 p.m. Tuesday, September 15; and 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 16, at the Orpheum Theatre, 203 West Adams. Nordies! The very name is enough to set the hearts of trophy wives everywhere aflutter. The new Nordstrom store at Fashion Square, Scottsdale Road and Camelback in Scottsdale, opens with a gala night--and, as Groucho observed, a gal a night is enough for anybody--celebrated with buffet goodies and a chance to shop before the official opening, from 7 to 10 p.m. Wednesday, September 16. The proceeds benefit Fresh Start Women's Foundation and Scottsdale Center for the Arts. Tickets, if any remain, are $150; call 594-6730.

And here's some more charity: Aunt Chilada's "Fill Up for St. Mary's Food Bank" fund raiser concludes with a Mexican Independence Day Celebration starting at 4 p.m. Wednesday, September 16. The evening includes a performance by Mariachi Femeniol Sol Azteca, an all-woman mariachi band, as well as a musical-chair Mexican-hat-dance competition presided over by Ginny and Jon of KZZP-FM 104.7.
