For those who aren't film-festivaled out after last weekend's New Times Flashback Film Festival or the Phoenix Jewish Film Festival, this week there's the fourth annual Phoenix International Lesbian and Gay Film Festival, this year titled "Out Far!" The venue is Harkins Camelview 5, located on Goldwater Boulevard north of Camelback in Scottsdale.

The preview, at 8 p.m. Thursday, February 10, is a screening of Swedish director Lukas Moodysson's film Show Me Love, the story of a tragicomic romance between two teenage girls. The screening is hosted by performance poet Regina Blakely. Festivities proper, however, kick off the following evening, with an "Opening Night Gayla," slated for 8 p.m. Friday, February 11. It's emceed by the comedian Ant, and the featured film is Rose Troche's Bedrooms and Hallways, a British comedy about a "Wild Man Weekend" therapy group.
The festival continues with showtimes for about a half-dozen features and short compilations throughout the day Saturday, February 12; and Sunday, February 13. Among the other selections:
Beefcake -- This film about the physique magazines of the 1950s is by the Canadian director Thom Fitzgerald, of the brilliant, neglected family drama The Hanging Garden. Joe D'Alessandro and Jack LaLanne are in the cast.
Gendernauts -- Monika Treut's documentary is composed of interviews with personalities from the San Francisco gender-bending scene. It features commentary by Annie Sprinkle.
Head On -- This Australian film by Ana Kokkinos is about a young Greek immigrant to Melbourne and his struggles with his sexuality.
Out of Season -- A hip lesbian photographer falls in love with a diner waitress while caring for her ailing uncle. Jeanette Buck directed this American film.
Queer As Folk -- Four episodes of the British TV series are scheduled to be shown over Saturday and Sunday.
Those Who Love Me Can Take the Train -- Patrice Chereau directed this French drama about a rolling funeral for a dead gay painter.
Three -- This film from the Philippines, directed by Carlos Siguion-Reyna, explores a variety of love triangles.
The Trio -- In the same vein, this German film is about a father and daughter who both fall in love with the same guy. Hermine Huntgeburth directed.
Admission to the opening-night gala is $20 in advance, $25 the day of the event; individual admissions are $10 in advance, $12 the day of the event; a day pass is $40 in advance, $50 the day of the event; a full-festival pass is $75, $85 at the door.
