The best little Horror house in Phoenix does double duty this weekend, pairing Hedwig & the Angry Inch with The Rocky Horror Picture Show for a gender-blending double feature. Broadway Bound & Gagged, the Valley's longest-running Rocky Horror shadow cast, screens the films this Saturday, July 26, promising a "fun and frenzied night of cross-dressing, rock and roll, big hair and dancing." It won't be Hedwig's first encounter with Rocky times. Having survived a botched sex-change operation (hence the miffed 25 millimeters), the "internationally ignored song stylist" journeyed from East Berlin to Junction City, Kansas, seeking his/her other half and courting success "in this business we call show." Pummeled by personal and professional betrayals, the East German transvestite glam rocker shares his/her story -- a manic mix of original music, animation, flashbacks and odious fashion choices -- in one of the freshest, funniest films of the last few decades.

Broadway Bound & Gagged is set to give Hedwig the proper cult film treatment, enhancing the screening with a live stage cast and audience participation. BB&G's "normal showing" of Rocky Horrorfollows, with the attendant preshow activities, virgin initiation, and a Lingerie & Fetish Contest.

The disorderly conduct commences at 8:30 p.m. inside Spectrum Mall, 19th Avenue and Bethany Home. Tickets are $5 for Hedwig and $6 for Rocky Horror. Adult accompaniment is recommended for viewers younger than 13. See www.azrocky.com for more information. -Jill Koch

No matter how packed your closet is, you can never have too many cool tee shirts or pairs of jeans -- that's the truth behind Club Freedom's Kind Fridays fashion show, presented by Soldier Leisure and Swell. "The theme could be called Lost Cowboys, Found Hussies,'" says Andy Brown, designer behind Soldier Leisure, a local line of tees and tanks for guys and gals. Brown plans to show some new shirt designs along with a few older classics, all paired with Diesel denim from Scottsdale boutique Swell. Hats and limited-edition shirts will be on sale for 20 bucks apiece.
