Lush for Life

Pray to the porcelain god for three days straight

3/26-3/28
One night of agave-fueled tequila or two days of refreshing suds? Hell, why choose just one when you can satisfy your thirsty liver with both? A true champion of the people would head to the Desert Botanical Garden, 1201 North Galvin Parkway, on Friday, March 26, for the second annual "Agave on the Rocks" fiesta, and then venture down to the Great Arizona Beer Festival at the Arizona Center on Saturday, March 27, and Sunday, March 28.

Feelin' muggy: Fill your glass and enjoy some music at the "Agave on the Rocks" fiesta and the Great Arizona Beer Festival.

Thirst Things First
Corkscrews cover wine basics

Sun 3/28
For once, we will find the answers at the bottom of a bottle. Dedicated to "getting you into wine," the Phoenix Corkscrews host an interactive "Wine 101" class this Sunday, March 28. The group formerly known as Wine Brats invites oenophiles (and wanna-bes) to Scottsdale's Baguettes Bistro, 14362 North Frank Lloyd Wright, to sip samples from Napa Valley's Trinchero Family Estates and spin the "Aroma Wheel of Fortune." The first 50 people to sign up are welcome at the 1 p.m. educational session; the all-inclusive wine tasting follows at 2. Call Melissa at 480-203-8341 for tickets, $30; see www.phoenixcorkscrews.com to join the club.-- Jill Koch
