Doctor's orders: You're to exercise more in 2005! Running is a good option. But frankly, jogging alone looks painfully boring. Perhaps your ideal workout is something more akin to frat-house activities: frequent "beverage" breaks, drinking games, and singing some bawdy songs. If so, you should join the Phoenix Hash House Harriers for their "Diaper Rash & Come Again Run" at Pima Park, 8600 East Thomas in Scottsdale, at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 15. This noncompetitive event features volunteer "hares" who set out a trail for the "harriers" to follow. The objective isn't to break the tape at the finish line, as false trail markings are designed to equalize running abilities. Lost Dutchman run features peace and quiet

Sure, this weekend's Lost Dutchman Marathon doesn't rock as much as that other recent road race in the Valley. But with spectacular scenic views of the Superstition Mountains at sunrise, who needs to be serenaded by local rock acts anyway? Starting atop a dusty foothill at 7:30 a.m. Sunday, January 16, participants will wind their way along the Peralta Trail, and the streets of Apache Junction; and if they finish quickly enough, they can use their time to qualify for the Boston Marathon. Supercross flies high at BOB

While motor sports like NASCAR are treated as a religion in some pockets of the country, others continue to grow in popularity while still flying somewhat under the radar. Such is the case with professional motorcycle racing, a sport teeming with charismatic drivers who engage in the kind of high-flying antics that literally define the term "spectator sport." Get a taste of how it's done on two wheels at the THQ World Supercross GP Series, Saturday, January 15, at Bank One Ballpark, 401 East Jefferson.
