Sinners shine at Paper Heart

SAT 2/12
With plenty of cold nights left until the spring thaw, keep yourself warm at Fetish Revolution 5 on Saturday, February 12, at the Paper Heart, 750 Grand Avenue. Owners Jen and Scott Sanders will probably leave the heater off during the steamy soiree, with enough glimpses of the sins of flesh to get your temperature rising. Live demonstrations of bondage, flogging, sadism and tickling will occur, while the fetishistic folks of LifeSuspended will perform all manner of body suspensions. If piercing flesh isn't your bag, consider tasting it with "girl-on-girl biting and sucking." Forget about sneaking off to the upstairs art studio for a quick tryst, because there's Dungeon Space available to play master and servant. DJ Jonah Gabriel and Posse, the Cut Throat Freak Show, the Flames of Pyrotique, Meatwhistle, and plenty of others will also perform. Doors open at 9 p.m. for those 21 and over. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door. Fetish wear is required. See www.azfetishball.com for the dress code. -- Bejamin Leatherman

History reloaded at Rockin' R Ranch

SAT 2/12
Don't say any fightin' words, dang it, if you plan on visiting the Rockin' R Ranch, 6136 East Baseline in Mesa, on Saturday, February 12. The performers of Arizona Gunfighters will be locked, cocked and ready to rock the Western-themed joint with their 22-minute re-creation of the Gunfight near the OK Corral in celebration of our state's 93rd birthday. Don't worry about bringing any Kevlar vests, since blanks will be used to relive the infamous showdown. A second round of fire comes during "Wild Bill Hickok in Abilene," a six-minute re-creation of the legendary lawman's accidental shooting of his deputy Mike Williams in 1871. Dinner and the stage show starts at 6:30 p.m., and the gunplay follows at 8:30 p.m. Admission is $25 for adults, $23 for seniors, and $15 for kids 12 and under, and includes dinner and a live show. Reservations are recommended. Call 480-986-1800 or see www.arizonagunfighters.com. -- Benjamin Leatherman

A Woman's Intuition

Artist's first film anchors gallery evening

SAT 2/12
When she's not splicing patterns for her latest couture du jour, or zhuzhing someone's 'do at Atmosphere Salon, local fashion designer, singer, stylist and artist extraordinaire Camille Messina is challenging her artistic résumé -- this time, with filmmaking. The 24-year-old raven-haired renaissance woman has completed her first film, Intuition, along with Brynn Kolinski, and you're invited to the première. Check out the short, esoteric film at 8 p.m. Saturday, February 12, at Wet Paint Gallery, 203 East Seventh Street in Tempe. Nightmare by Josh Martinez, and two films by Joshua Hurst are also on tap, along with spoken word by Phil Freedom, live art by Dumperfoo, and mixes from Blow Up Co-Op DJs. Tickets are $5 at the door. Call 480-967-2002. -- Ashlea Deahl
