Radar love: Big-time turntablist spins at Coach & Willie's.

When it comes to turntablists in this town, nobody can fuck with DJ Radar. Not only has Radar composed and performed his classical Concerto for Turntable at Carnegie Hall, but the scratchmaster's designed and built his own custom looping machine for making his beats, scratches, and wahh's cascade over one another. It's increasingly rare that he rocks the tables here in town; he's just as likely to be at Carnegie or performing in Latvia. But this First Friday, April 7, at the art show/party they're calling "The End of the Line," Radar will hit the decks at Coach & Willie's (412 South Third Street) as part of a lineup that includes DJs Pablo Gomez, Delikacy, Quetzal & Senbad, and Antedote. The work on display is by some of the 'Nix's most elite urban stylists, including Pablo Luna, Mando, Lalo Cota, and Tomas Baldonado, plus live art by Hendrix & Matteo. Tickets for the 21-and-over event are $10 in advance from Circles, Hoodlums, and Stinkweeds Records, or $13 at the door, and the getdown gets down from 8 p.m. until 2 a.m.
