The Arcade Fire

Stop, drop it like it's hot, and roll

Ever since local DJ William Fucking Reed debuted his "motherfucking rock and roll dance party" Shake! last year, Saturday nights at The Rogue East, 423 North Scottsdale Road in Scottsdale, have never been the same. Every weekend, hipster hotties crowd this East Valley punk mainstay to bust and bop to the Britpop and indie tracks spun by Reed and a cadre of visiting rock and electronica superstars who serve as guest DJs (including such alt-scene darlings as folks from Ima Robot, The Walkmen, and Louis XIV). Reed welcomes his biggest visitors yet when members of Montreal's The Arcade Fire take time off from creating the band's new album to spin their fave indie rock platters. Drummer Jeremy Gara and instrumentalist Richard Reed Parry (who plays guitar, tambourine, accordion, and keyboards) will be working the turntables, as well as giving away 60 copies of The Arcade Fire's last disc, Funeral, to those in attendance at the fete, which kicks off at 9 p.m. There's no cover before 10 p.m. Admission costs $6 afterward.
