More About

Summer festivals might be winding down elsewhere in the country, but since it's sunny and hot nine months out of the year here, the Valley's guaranteed to have a few more super-sized summer shows before we get the big fall festivals. Edgefest 2006, presented by "independent" Phoenix radio station Edge 103.9, is one of the last summer soirees at Tempe Beach Park, and promises a bill packed with big-name acts: Top 40 hit makers Incubus ("Pardon Me," "Drive"); melodic hardcore band Rise Against; alternative rock band 30 Seconds to Mars (fronted by Hollywood hottie Jared Leto); indie rock darlings She Wants Revenge; Texas rock riot Sparta; and Jack's Mannequin (a.k.a. Andrew McMahon of Something Corporate). The bill also features some of P-town's hottest bands, including Authority Zero and A Change of Pace. The former has a new DVD out called and I am zero, and the latter just released its latest album, Prepare the Masses, which just goes to show that while the rest of the country is breaking out its winter wear, things are still heating up here.
