When reading what others have to say,... and when viewing the works of Rembrandt, leaves me in a state of awe and disbelief. What exactly do people have eyes for? I've always been under the impression they were to see with. What exactly is this person and so-called experts looking out of? I myself see no hilt of a sword poking out from his clothing, as he is being claimed to holding a bundle of letters; They say both items are the symbols of St. Paul,... so,.. this enables them to call it by the name of a "Self-portrait as the Apostle Paul"? Well I say myself, that this is a portrait of Rembrandt holding a 1421 dated manucript, rolled out from the roll that is in his right hand. I'm not sure of the meaning myself, but I'm sure that they are not letters from or to the Apostle Paul, and would not have the date of 1421 on one of them. I'd say they had better re-think another name, for this self-portrait.
