That's Bond, Jaime Bond

Meet the Mexican 007 at Mythos

Imagine a James Bond type born in the heart of Mexico City in the '50s, standing alone in the land of tequila and murder, a man who would eventually become a pompadoured, sharkskin-jacket-wearing Johnny Danger, a spy with the penchant for dodging bullets and saving dames in trouble. This is kind of what Marco Polo, the transformative hero of The Spy Who Came From the Ghetto, goes through in the spaghetti-noir, cloak-and-dagger free-for-all, which was written, produced, and directed by -- and stars -- the local film aficionado.

Hit up Buttshake Cinema's Secret Agent Party featuring belly dancers, burlesque troupes, a fashion show, and the premiere screening of what Polo describes as his "high-class, hot-and-spicy film in the second degree."

Fri., Sept. 28, 7 p.m., 2007
