Alice Unchained

Euro-fabulous MC turns the tables at Myst

If there's one product the U.S. imports from Europe in larger quantities than luxury automobiles, it's electronic dance music. In the last decade, EDM has virtually conquered the club scenes on both continents with related genres such as techno, house, trance, industrial, drum 'n' bass, hardcore, electro, electronica... the list goes on.

Alice Deejay, a.k.a. Judy Pronk, is one such European import. Pronk was discovered while DJing a party in Amsterdam, where she fled the decks to dance to a favorite tune. The combination of Pronk's DJ skills and talent as a performer spawned Alice Deejay. Her first single, "Better Off Alone," took the dance scene by storm on both sides of the Atlantic at the turn of the century, and AD's debut album, Who Needs Guitars Anyway, hit No. 8 on the UK charts and did quite well here in the States, as well.
