Word Up! Saturdays

Despite his salacious pseudonym, we've got absolutely zero idea of how gifted Kevin the Makeout Bandit is at the art of heavy petting. What we do know, however (other than the fact it takes some serious cojones to advertise your abilities at getting down) is that the dude is pretty effin' skilled when it comes to the art of turntablism. Our boy Kev definitely knows how to keep a party going from behind the record decks, whether it's at French Kiss over at Homme on Friday nights, or during his newest gig, Word Up! Saturdays at Glam, 3174 East Indian School Road. Partnered up with DJ Benko of the Hot City Destroyers, the Makeout Bandit has been packing 'em in every weekend at the hipster Mecca, blasting the phattest hip-hop and Top 40 tracks from the past 15 years, as well as enough indie and electro jams to keep your rump shaking well into Sunday. The beats get going at 9 p.m. and there's no cover. Visit www.myspace.com/wordupsaturdays.
