The Gay ’90s

They’re back

Whatever happened to the good old days of the 1990s? It was the gays’ heyday, and we were all on board. We cried into our leopard-print pillows when Pedro Zamora died on Season 3 of The Real World and blasted Melissa Etheridge on our VW Bug stereo. Our favorite color was, of course, rainbow. Though the ’90s novelty is done, alas, we’re still stoked for the 12th annual Phoenix Pride Weekend.

The Pride Parade kicks things off at and will be followed by a festival that’s packed like a gay man’s . . . well, never mind. Let’s just say there’ll be plenty of live music, semi-celebrity appearances (Ultra Naté, Exposé, Sheena Easton – sound vaguely familiar?), DJs, dancing and more.
