Undying words of wisdom from the King of the Bs, who rolled out nearly seven movies a year between 1955 and 1971 and dandled the likes of Martin Scorsese, James Cameron, Francis Ford Coppola, and Jack Nicholson on his knee.

New Times spent an evening previewing Corman’s The Saga of the Viking Women (1957) in advance of the celluloid-slamming Roger Corman Triple Feature Extravaganza scheduled for Friday and Saturday, May 30 and 31, at Chandler Cinemas, 2140 North Arizona Avenue. While the dialogue is trite, it's still an excellent tale of jealousy and greed featuring a sea monster and girls in pelt bikinis. The other films on the bill are 1957’s Rock All Night and 1958’s War of the Satellites. Rockis a straight-to-drive-in dust-up pitting teens versus cons, while Satellites is a space-exploitation flick that was rushed into production in response to the USSR’s surprise launching of Sputnik.
