La Piccola Cucina is the kind of place where anyone can feel comfortable just stopping by for a cappuccino and something sweet, so even if lunch or dinner isn't in the cards, dessert definitely is.
Pappas is proud to serve his own homemade cannoli, while other items, like a decadent chocolate layer cake with dark chocolate frosting, or voluptuous dome-shaped lemon tarts, are flown in from New York's Plaza Sweets. He recently started serving cheesecake from the Venerio Pastry Shop, also in New York, and boy, is it ever good — like eating velvet. There's also a dozen different flavors of gelato from Berto's, arranged in a lavish display.
