Felt-and-foam pals head west in search of a pilot

For the generation-spanning neighborhood that starts with Sesame Street and includes Avenue Q, puppets have always been a part of our lives. For Josh Cohen and Tamra Malaga, puppets aren't only their neighbors but also their co-workers.

The couple has performed all over North America and is currently moving from the East Coast to the TV-pilot-friendly land of L.A., which brings The Josh and Tamra Show to the Valley. Early performers at NYC's Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, Josh and Tamra improvise Malaga’s adventures with puppet Buddy and his friends. According to Cohen, a Jim Henson Company puppeteer for nearly 10 years, their felt-and-foam friends are only part of the fun. "Tamra is so great at justifying and reacting to what's going on, audiences buy into it a lot faster," he says.
