Mac attack: Lindsey Buckingham
Mac attack: Lindsey Buckingham

Lindsey Buckingham is scheduled to perform on Thursday, September 18.
Orpheum Theatre
For a guitar player who was behind many of the hits that helped build the successful path forged by Fleetwood Mac, Lindsey Buckingham has kept an intriguingly low profile on his own, releasing only a handful of solo records over the years — mostly because his individual projects would eventually end up becoming Mac albums. One recent example is 2003's Say You Will (fans will recall the single "Peacekeeper," a major hit for the band), a disc that began life as Buckingham's individually written Gift of Screws, which will finally see the light of day this month. Now completely at peace with his image as part of rock history (Mac was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998), Buckingham sets out on his first solo tour in more than a decade, performing tunes from the new disc in addition to favorites like "Go Your Own Way," "Big Love," and others from his four-decade career. In the meantime, he is also busy with yet another reunion with his old bandmates (minus Christine McVie, who retired after the 1997 The Dance tour) for a disc that is slated for release next year.
