Tongue in ChicHip Icelandic crew makes it up as it goes alongBy Frances Michelle LopezPublished on September 24, 2008 at 4:05amIt doesnt take an archaeological genius like Indiana Jones to decipher the messages embedded in the lyrics of Icelandic post-rock band Sigur Rós. Even the band has admitted that its completely fictional language, Volenska, is a bunch of gibberish that doesnt quite mean anything, yet seems to fit perfectly with what the song is supposed to sound like. However, for hipster-intellectual types, were sure the bands epic and elaborately orchestrated songs have more meaning per syllable than even frontman Jónsi Birgisson would like to admit. Experience Sigur Rós melodic new tunes from the bands latest full-length album, as well as Birgissons distinct falsetto, when the group visits Marquee Theatre. Tue., Sept. 30, 6:30 p.m., 2008
