What do the 2008 football Clemson Tigers, Tennessee Volunteers, and Arizona State Sun Devils have in common? They were all ranked in preseason polls, but turned out to be supersucky squads. Plain and simple. The suckiest of the sucky suck.

To be fair, all of these teams suffered from inflated expectations by preseason pundits. (We’re totally guilty, picking ASU to finish third in the Pac-10. Ouch.) However, all hope is not lost. If the Sun Devils can pull off victories in their two remaining games – including today’s final home duel against the UCLA Bruins – then the Devils will go bowling once again. And we don’t see why they won’t be able to against the pretty boys in baby blue from L.A., even with injury-prone Bruin signal caller Ben Olson expected to take his first snaps of the season.
