For the past year or so, DJ mig50 has brought Yacht Rock Sundays to the masses with a monthly event featuring the music of Michael McDonald, Hall & Oates, and Steely Dan. Sounds awesome, right? Well, it is, but big ol’ bummer for us, ’cause mig and Yacht Rock have decided to sail into the sunset for good.

Mig admits that the night started tongue-in-cheek – “yacht rock” is shorthand for late-’70s to mid-’80s Southern California soft-spun rock and its derivatives – but the residency transformed into authentic appreciation and enjoyment. "I recognized a lot of the music, and a lot of it was fucking good!" the vinyl-spinner exclaims. Ever the captain, though, mig recognizes that all good things must come to an end. "We've had some great times, but it's time to let the ship sail."
