Well, it’s the beginning of January and the ASU Men’s Basketball team did what it was supposed to do: mop up the mostly-weak-sauced opponents in its nonconference schedule. Aside from a slip-up to a very good Baylor squad and a tough conference loss at Cal, coach Herb Sendek and the boys are 12-2, and are in prime position for an NCAA tournament berth. But now the going gets much tougher, as the Mississippi Valley States and Idaho States are replaced by Pac-10 big-timers such as UCLA and UofA. First up on the Devils’ home conference slate are the Oregon State Beavers, quite possibly the league’s weakest team, but dangerous nonetheless.
