Rockin' on Heaven's DoorChristian rock devils music or manna from above?By Benjamin LeathermanPublished on January 14, 2009 at 4:14amTheres been a rip-roaring debate raging through the religious world for years over the role of Christian rock. Although some hard-liners feel its the devils music and has no place in the Lords house of worship, more moderate (and less fundamentalist) types feel its just another avenue for paying tribute to Yahweh. We tend to agree with the latter camp, if for no other reason than were certain that the Deity who created Jimi Hendrix would approve of a few three-chord hosannahs thrown his way by the likes Portlands Kutless or Mississippis Wavorly. Both bands will be in attendance at this weekends hellaciously holy Rage Music Festival. More than two dozen Christian-rock outfits will perform in raucous reverence for the Almighty starting Saturday, January 17. The lineup features out-of-towners such as San Diegos Future of Forestry as well as locals Emerald Honor, Ivoryline, and others.
