Funk JunkieIs New Orleans mainstay ready for another brush with fame?By Clay McNearPublished on February 04, 2009 at 4:07amIvan Neville was almost famous once. His 1988 album If My Ancestors Could See Me Now featured the soul-pop gems Falling Out of Love and Not Just Another Girl, the latter which cracked the Billboard Top 40. His pop-star career stalled after that, but if youre a member of the New Orleans Neville clan, youre never really not famous, and the son of Aaron went on to play with everyone from Keith Richards and the X-Pensive Winos to the Spin Doctors. His latest bid for crossover stardom is Ivan Nevilles Dumpstaphunk, which plays a throwback style of urban funk that could break bricks.
