Sporting events on Saturday nights are an iffy proposition. If you manage to convince a girl (or an effeminate guy, we don’t judge) to go, there’s always the risk that she’ll spend the evening reminding you of the romantic (read: boring) movies and nice (read: expensive) restaurants that you could take her to next weekend. This is why most memorable sports fans – like the John 3:16 guy, Fan-Man, and the dude who stabbed Steffi Graf – flew solo.

But when David Beckham’s L.A. Galaxy faces off against the Chicago Fire in the PHX Soccer Clasico, you’ll finally get your chance to enjoy a sporting event with that special someone without any strings attached. While you take in preseason Major League Soccer action, she can scan Sun Devil Stadium for Posh Spice and explain to you how George Clooney fits into Beckham’s life.

Isn’t compromise wonderful?
