You can learn a lot about a person’s finances in the cereal aisle. A guy might buy a car out of his price range, but when the chips are down, you know dude’s reaching for the Malt-O-Meal, not the fancy rich-people cereal in the tiny boxes on the top shelf.

If your efforts to impress the opposite sex include replacing your Cheerios with Scooters, consider spending Saturday, April 4, and Sunday, April 5, at the Gus Macker 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament. Not only is the event free to watch, but it’s also being held to benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Phoenix. So when you’re talking about how you saw some crazy ballers over the weekend, you can mask your cheapness by saying you supported a good cause.

The all-ages, co-ed, playground-style tourney takes place at Arizona Mills Mall.
