Phoenix isn’t known for being a late-night town. Not like the doors roll up at 6 or anything, but if you’re looking for food after 10 p.m., we hope you’re in the mood for a Denny’s Grand Slam. Live entertainment after midnight? It’s strip joint or bust.

However, on Friday, May 1, there will be at least one light still shining in downtown Phoenix – at Night Watch: An All Night Arts Vigil, which starts at 10 p.m. and continues ’til 7 the next morning at Deus Ex Machina. What exactly is a vigil? In medieval times, it was a night of contemplation or prayer.
