The Garden’s “Strolling in Yukata: A Summer's Evening at Ro Ho En” event features a light meal, art and dance demonstrations, and people milling about in hoppi coats and yukata -- informal cotton robes for men and women that originated as after-bath wear but now have a whole fashion thing going on. (If you can’t find yours -- yeah, you, cutoffs guy – the informal kimonos will be for sale at the event.)
