One of the featured authors at this event (Phoenix's Jana Bommersbach) is a writer's writer, with a reportorial bent that brings her nonfiction to vivid life, as in her latest, Bones in the Desert. The other (Scottsdale-based Clive Cussler, pictured) is more adventurer than scribe, a he-man fiction maven who founded the National Underwater and Marine Agency (NUMA) and once proposed to raise the Titanic. The price includes lunch and valet parking. Proceeds benefit the Arizona chapter of Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic.
