The Voiceover of His Generation

The Taco Bell Chihuahua hits The Comedy Spot

Sure, Carlos Alazraqui has logged his own Comedy Central Presents special, appeared on countless VH1 I Love Whatever Year It Currently Ain’t talking-head snarkfests, and performed stand-up twice on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. And, yeah, he was certainly lovable yet bumbling as dearly departed, hard-nosed Deputy Officer James Garcia on Reno 911!. But here’s the real kicker: For all the voiceover credits Alazraqui’s formidable IMDB profile boasts (The Fairly OddParents, SpongeBob SquarePants, Family Guy, Pokemon, and approximately 10 kabrillion more), there’s one that will ultimately reside in the Catchphrase Hall of Fame. Does “Yo Quiero Taco Bell” ring a, er, bell? No, he most likely won’t be doing his once-omnipresent, fast-food-obsessed Chihuahua act, but comedic chameleon Alazraqui will break out his entire arsenal of insightful political and pop-culture impressions, observational outrage, and high-energy hysteria when he headlines The Comedy Spot in Scottsdale.
