Ross is in town to promote her new book The Wicked Truth: When Good People Do Bad Things, based on the smash musical Wicked, a road-show version which happens to be playing this month at Tempe’s Gammage Auditorium. Ross calls her book “a thinking guide to the play,” which itself is loosely based on The Wizard of Oz. The book’s stories explore how today's society is little different than Frank Baum’s imaginary land. Ross cites political, social, and historical examples to challenge our concepts of good and evil and to challenge what we think of as “right” and “wrong.”
