Love Mania

Phoenix has been good to DJ Emile. Throughout a big chunk of the '90s, the outspoken mixmaster amassed some hefty fame and fortune as one-third of the PHX's notorious turntablism triumvirate, the Bombshelter DJs. Together with Z-Trip and Radar, the trio rocked many an underground party while working the wheels of steel. These days, Emile's interested in giving something back, which is why he lauds the many DJs occupying our city. "I'm all about trying to getting Arizona DJs some much needed attention," he says. "There's some major talent in the Valley, and it's no mistake that we've had some big names come from here: Sandra Collins, Eddie Amador, Z-Trip, and Markus Schulz." He's also eager to pimp the shit out of this weekend's Love Mania on Saturday, August 29, at the Wyndham Hotel, 50 East Adams Street, which featured many of the cats he digs on. The all-day massive, which is being put on by Valley promoter Neurobias Productions, boasts a staggering "who's who" of P-Town DJs across two stages. Almost every local scene is represented, from the Blunt Club's Element and hipster Jared Alan to Scottsdale spinsters like Turner & Heit and Soloman. If that weren't enough to get your booty shaking, the lineup also includes appearances by Emile and Radar, Sol Martinez, Senbad, Tsunami, Tricky T, MCB, and a dozen more.
