Philip Zimbardo: "The Journey from the Psychology of Evil to Heroism"

Former college professor Zimbardo headed the now-famous (and infamous) Stanford Prison Experiment of 1971, a study of the psychological effects of becoming a prisoner or prison guard. He later testified as an expert witness at the Abu Ghraib hearings, and wrote a book titled The Lucifer Effect, examining the nature of evil. His lecture, which takes place in the Navajo Room, explores the seemingly thin line that separates everyday evildoers from their average-Joe heroic counterparts.
