L.A. Times reporter discusses award-winning wildfire series

Last April 20, while the East Valley Tribune was – somewhat shockingly, but happily so – pocketing a rare local Pulitzer Prize for its Joe Arpaio/Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office reportage, reporters Julie Cart and Bettina Boxall of the Los Angeles Times were celebrating their own Pulitzer win for a series about the (sometimes heinous) governmental policies and politics of fighting wildfires. Cart visits the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication to tell how they did it in a public lecture titled “The Making of a Pulitzer.”
