Devils attempt to continue Beavers’ dry spell in Tempe

The magnitude of this one is easy to understand: The ASU Football team opens its Pac-10 season with a home tussle against the Oregon State Beavers. A Sun Devils win would give the team much-needed momentum before heading into the meat of its conference schedule. OSU will be extra-motivated, because the Beavers haven’t won in Tempe since 1969, a year when Sky Harbor had only two terminals, the Phoenix Suns were entering their second year of play, and Sun Devil Stadium didn’t even contain an upper deck.
