Design of the Times

Examining interior motives at ASU

For fans of Eames chairs, nylon Frieze, and built-in blond-wood cabinetry, the title says it all: “Modernism Revisited: An Exploration of Iconic Mid-Century Furniture, Interiors and Textiles.” For the rest of us, it bears mentioning that this exhibition surveys the work of graphic, industrial, and interior designers and architects – with a specific nod to mid-century masters Hans and Florence Knoll – who forged a new design aesthetic that changed American interior environments during the first half of the last century.

The exhibit, organized by the ASU chapter of the International Interior Design Association, is on view from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, November 2, through Friday, November 6, at the ASU Gallery of Design.

Mon., Nov. 2, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.; Tue., Nov. 3, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.; Wed., Nov. 4, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.; Thu., Nov. 5, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.; Fri., Nov. 6, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., 2009
