If you check out the Phoenix Faerie Festival Web site, you’ll see that the fest’s fan base falls into four basic groups: little children chasing bubbles, supple guys in snug leotards, hot chicks with face paint, and potbellied bearded men sporting tiny wings. By Merlin’s beard, we fit right in! So we're flocking to Goodyear's rapturous climate and enchanted woodland scenery for some Tolkien-esque communing with rustling trees, dancing to live music with impish pixies and pucks, traipsing with festive troubadours, and feasting on foodstuffs most excellent. Maybe we’ll meet a nice dragon. Regardless, it's a welcome respite from this dark realm with its fire and brimstone and 40-hour work week.
