About a dozen students will showcase their new skills for the masses at Space 55. They've been preparing to let it all hang out for eight weeks now, learning the basics of long-form improv, readying a monologue-based show, and practicing the oft-dreaded Harold (an intricate format of scenes that tell a narrative). Professional Valley improvisers, who helped form The Torch more than two years ago, taught the students. If they’re lucky, these newbies might be future performers in the annual Phoenix Improv Festival, sponsored by The Torch and held every spring.
