Possessing a basic knowledge of bobbins, backstitching, inseams, and basting used to peg you as a dowdy old granny wearing an airbrushed kitten tee shirt tucked into the elastic waistband of your “jeans.” But now that shows like Project Runway have come along, sewing has glamour.
