Red-Letter Days

Exhibition focuses on days to come

It’s hard to believe that a whole month of 2010 is already gone. February is destined to be quite the flash, too. There's gotta be a way for these days to be a little more memorable, which is why we're hinging our hopes on the “Printmakers’ Calendar 2010” exhibit that’s currently on display.

Show curator Camilla Taylor – the former Phoenix resident and current MFA artist at California State University, Long Beach – is a non-stop ball of creativity. If you’ve made the art-space rounds at any point in the past few years, you've seen her printmaking skills come to life via her plush sculptures of human-faced fauns and disembodied tentacles. Through various print-exchange exhibitions that she's curated over the years, she's connected with printmaking artists from all across the country. Some of them, including Brian Borlaug, Trent Call, Stefanie Dykes, and Gretchen Jankowski, have contributed to this year's calendar. The limited-edition of amazing, month-specific prints can be purchased as a collection of twelve for $60.
Fri., Feb. 5, 6-10 p.m., 2010
