Tome Economy

Fight the new great depression with a good read

No doubt about it: our local economy is in the toilet. State parks are closing, city businesses are slashing staff, and there aren’t any new jobby-jobs. Rather than sinking into depression, view this as a perfect time to get more educated.

Reading good book after good book is one way to get the job done. Pick ‘em up (and then some) during the VNSA Book Sale. The largest used book treasure hunt west of the Mississippi River will, for the 54th year in a row, sell butt loads of on-the-cheap hardcovers and paperbacks in all sorts of genres. For those with lots of free time in this crap economy, the biggest challenge will be getting through all of the tomes you’ll certainly pick up.
