Experimental Phase

PVCC goes off the deep end

Maricopa County community colleges are the place for the unexpected. Take a cinema class at SCC and you’ll watch the rape scene from A Clockwork Orange in the school’s miniature movie theatre. Take a wrong turn at MCC and you may barge into the life drawing class (yes, that model is naked). Or, for more sneak surprises, you can head to the fifth annual Experimental Arts Festival at Paradise Valley Community College's Center for the Performing Arts.

You'll soak up more mixed-media, interdisciplinary, and interactive music, dance, visual art, and other loopy avant-garde experiences than you can shake a stick at. (Stick reserves the right to be virtual, metaphorical, and/or imaginary.)

The lobby exhibit, "Game Show," features work from artists Angela Ellsworth, Mary Lucking, and Rico Reyes. Check that out before and between seven live performances.
