As Jimmy Kimmel once said when introducing Rob Schneider, I love both of your movies, Rob, but then again, I also like watching homeless people play with themselves on the subway. While its true the San Francisco-born comic is best known for his raunchy film romps as a man-whore, an animal-powered nebbish, and a bitchy high-school cheerleader, Schneider is shedding the slapstick (for now) and returning to stand-up comedy after 17 years.
Schneiders new, mature material is supposed to focus on everything from the economy to Tiger Woods to the underwear bomber. How long will this road trip last? At least until the June release of his new movie Grown Ups, in which Schneider will play alongside fellow Saturday Night Live bad boys Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, and David Spade as a new-age hippie who makes out with an old woman.
The easier it is to do, the harder it is to change.
