Phoenix Pride shows the Valley some loving

In an age where it still takes years for celebrities to come out (ahem, Clay Aiken) a happening such as Phoenix Pride’s 10 Days of Pride is as relevant today as when it began 30 years ago. The festival of events is complete with plenty of parties, lots of opportunities for networking (or hooking up), and much love given to gay rights leaders in the Valley. The week also includes the oh-so-entertaining Phoenix Pride Parade and Festival on April 17.

The celebration kicks off with the Sugar & Champagne SAVORlife Soirée at the Phoenix Art Museum (the event benefits HIV/AIDS prevention and education). Other events include a film showing, a drag-queen brunch, mixers, and a 5K. Many of the peeps at these events head out to the gigantic Pride Festival, which includes music, food, vendors, contests, and this year's headliners Colby O'Donis (who's sung with Lady Gaga), Nina Sky, and Joan Jett.
