Hope Floats

Or maybe it sinks? Find out at Chase Field.

The best thing about the start of baseball season is that every team has hope. The worst component is that few of those teams have a good reason to be hopeful.

Whether the Arizona Diamondbacks are equipped with a solid foundation is a question that will be answered tonight at Chase Field when they begin a three-game series against the St. Louis Cardinals, who are perennially one of the strongest teams in the National League. A stong showing by the D-backs would make it seem that they can hang with the top teams in the league. In the best case, fans will be treated to a hot contest between two great clubs. At worst, AZ fans can at least watch Albert Pujols – the St. Louis slugger and future Hall of Famer – knock the cover off the ball.
