Spring Fling

Two hotshot ASU QBs vie for the starting job

There’s an interesting quarterback contest happening on the practice fields of the Arizona State Sun Devils. We’re not going to call it a controversy – it is, indeed, only spring practice – but two prime signal callers, true sophomore Brock Osweiler and Georgia Tech/Michigan transfer Steven Threet, are participating in a duel that could echo the Sam Keller-Rudy Carpenter competition in 2006. Thus far, Osweiler’s accuracy seems a bit better than Threet’s, but the latter’s running ability in new offensive coordinator Noel Mazzone’s scheme could give Threet a leg up on the hotly-contested competition.
